IPOH: Menteri Besar Perak, Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal menyerahkan kepada Persatuan Bolasepak Perak (PAFA) untuk menentukan siapa yang bakal menerajui persatuan itu.

Beliau mengambil maklum bahawa pihak PAFA amat memerlukan seorang yang berjawatan Menteri Besar untuk menerajui persatuan itu dan bukannya beliau sebagai individu.

“Mereka mahukan seorang yang memegang jawatan Menteri Besar supaya mereka mendapat kelebihan dalam membantu membangunkan sukan bolasepak negeri.

“Saya bersedia mengambil tanggungjawab menerajui PAFA sekiranya dicalonkan” katanya kepada pemberita di bilik media Bangunan Peerak Darul Ridzuan, Ipoh pada Rabu.

Sebelum ini berlaku kemelut dalam PAFA susulan tindakan YB Hasnol Zulkarnain Abd Munaim meletak jawatan selepas didesak keras oleh beberapa persatuan penyokong bolasepak Perak ekoran kontroversi Piala Malaysia.

Ahmad Faizal menjelaskan bahawa beliau tidak kisah siapapun yang akan menjadi Presiden PAFA asalkan apa yang penting ialah memastikan pasukan bolasepak Perak mampu bergerak lebih jauh sekaligus melayakkan mereka ke peringkat Asia.

“Tidak kisahlah sama ada saya ataupun YB Asmuni atau siapa sahaja menjadi Presiden asalkan bolasepak Perak boleh maju ke depan,” katanya.
