Cukai Jalan Kenderaan Tamat Tidak Lebih 3 Tahun Kini Boleh Diperbaharui Tanpa Pemeriksaan Puspakom

PUTRAJAYA | Lesen kenderaan (LKM) persendirian yang telah tamat tempoh tidak lebih 3 tahun kini boleh diperbaharui tanpa perlu menjalani pemeriksaan di Puspakom, bermula hari ini (4 Sept 2020).

Menteri Pengangkutan, Datuk SEri Wee Ka Siong berkata kerajaan mengambil keputusan itu selepas mempertimbangkan permintaan pemilik kenderaan untuk memberi kelonggaran kerana ada yang menghadapi masalah kewangan untuk membawa kenderaan menjalani pemeriksaan Puspakom akibat pandemik COVID-19.

Berdasarkan rekod, beliau berkata terdapat lebih daripada 4.27 juta kenderaan yang dikesan telah tamat cukai jalan dalam masa satu hingga tiga tahun.

“Pemilik kenderaan yang cukai jalan atau LKM tamat dalam masa kurang dari tiga tahun atau 36 bulan boleh terus memperbaharuinya,” katanya pada sidang media selepas menyaksikan majlis menandatangani program kerjasama strategik antara Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan (JPJ), Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) dan Jabatan Pembangunan Kemahiran (JPK), di sini, pada Khamis.

Sebelum ini, kenderaan persendirian dengan LKM yang telah habis tempoh dalam tempoh 12 bulan harus menjalani pemeriksaan di Puspakom sebelum dibenarkan memperbaharui cukai jalan, dengan kos pemeriksaan ditanggung oleh pemilik kenderaan.

Dengan tawaran diskaun 70 peratus untuk saman sehingga 30 September, Wee mengatakan bahawa ramai rakyat Malaysia masih memilih untuk membuat pembayaran di kaunter.

“Namun, saya menggalakkan orang ramai membayar secara dalam talian kerana mereka dapat menikmati diskaun 70 peratus untuk saman sekiranya mereka membayar dalam talian,” katanya.
