Hotel Keempat Di Ipoh Umum Hentikan Operasi

IPOH | Hotel Syeun, Ipoh menjadi hotel terbaru di bandaraya ini mengumumkan pemberhentian pekerja kerana industri perhotelan terus kehilangan pelanggan dan pelancong ekoran wabak koronavirus.

Menurut kenyataan pengurusan hotel bertaraf 4 bintang itu yang telah beroperasi sejak 27 tahun itu, keputusan menghentikan operasi bermula Mei ini dibuat berikutan perniagaan mengalami kesan yang serius ekoran wabak itu. Pihak syarikat juga telah mengalami kerugian sejak 3 tahun lalu sebelum Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan (PKP) dilaksanakan dua bulan lepas.

“Sejak itu, kami tidak dapat meneruskan perniagaan dan ketika ini sedang dilanjutkan sehingga mungkin untuk tempoh lebih lama lagi dan tidak dapat dijangka bila ia akan dihentikan,” menurut kandungan surat yang dihantar kepada semua kakitangan hotel berkenaan bertarikh hari ini (30 Apr).

“Kami tidak akan mampu meningkatkan kemampuan kewangan kami lebih jauh untuk memenuhi kos tetap kami untuk mengekalkan operasi kami, walaupun dengan peningkatan hutang dan liabiliti yang tidak dapat dielakkan,” kata notis itu.

Pihaknya mengatakan pengaturan akan dilakukan untuk membayar gaji kakitangan hingga dan termasuk 31 Mei ditambah dengan imbuhan lain. Hotel ini mempunyai 155 pekerja. Ini merupakan hotel keempat di bandaraya ini yang mengumumkan akan menghentikan operasinya ekoran mengalami kerugian akibat krisis pandemik sedunia.

Pihak hotel juga akan membayar faedah pemberhentian pekerja mengikut Peraturan Pekerjaan 1955 – Peraturan Pekerjaan (Pemberhentian dan Pemberhentian Pekerja) 1980.

Awal bulan ini, dilaporkan bahawa Hotel Tower Regency dan Kinta Riverfront Hotel and Suites, di sini juga akan menutup operasinya hari ini (30 April).

Pada 27 April, dalam makluman kepada Bursa Malaysia, Plenitude Bhd mengatakan akan menutup dua hotel di Pulau Pinang iaitu Mercure Penang Beach dan The Gurney Resort Hotel and Residences, serta Travelodge Ipoh di sini, dengan serta-merta.
