KUALA LUMPUR | Perdana Menteri Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin dalam isaran langsung di saluran TV tempatan hari ini mengisytiharkan Proklamasi Darurat pentadbiran sehingga 1 Ogos 2021.

Mengikut Perkara 150 (1) Perlembagaan Persekutuan, kerajaan mengisytiharkan darurat bagi seluruh persekutuan dan berkuatkuasa dari 11 Januari 2021 sehingga 1 Ogos 2021. Menurut Perdana Menteri, perisytiharan itu bukan bermaksud rampasan kuasa ketenteraan atau perintah berkurung sebaliknya kerajaan awam masih berfungsi seperti biasa.

“Saya beri jaminan bahawa jentera pentadbiran dan perkhidmatan awam kerajaan persekutuan dan kerajaan negeri tidak akan terganggu dengan perisytiharan darurat ini,” kata beliau.

Perisytiharan itu melibatkan parlimen di mana sepanjang tempoh itu, parlimen tidak akan bersidang dan tiada pilihanraya boleh diadakan. Namun, sistem kehakiman akan terus berfungsi seperti biasa.

Perdana Menteri telah menghadap Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah semalam dan Baginda telah memberi perkenan supaya Pengisytiharan Proklamasi Darurat dilaksanakan sebagai langkah proaktif untuk membendung gejala wabak Covid-19.
