IPOH: Kerajaan Pakatan Harapan (PH) Perak mengiktiraf Sijil Peperiksaan Bersepadu (UEC) dengan syarat kesemua pemegang sijil berkenaan perlu fasih berbahasa Melayu dan mendapat kredit dalam Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM).

Menteri Besar, YAB Ahmad Faizal Azumu menjelaskan, kerajaan negeri akan mengikut keputusan Kerajaan Persekutuan dalam mengiktiraf UEC.

“Secara rasmi kami mengiktirafnya dan seperti diperkatakan oleh Menteri Pendidikan, kita sedang melangkah ke arah itu.

“Kalau Kerajaan Pusat bersetuju dengan UEC, jadi sudah tentu kami akan turut bersama,” katanya kepada pemberita di Majlis Konvokesyen Kolej Komuniti Negeri Perak 2018 di Kolej Sains Kesihatan Bersekutu, semalam.

Beliau berkata, kerajaan negeri juga secara terbuka menerima pemegang UEC untuk berkhidmat dalam sektor awam selepas ini.

Bagaimanapun Ahmad Faizal berkata, rakyat perlu berlapang dada berhubung perkara berkenaan demi menjaga hubungan sesama kaum di negara ini.

“Tiada sebab sebenarnya untuk kita tahan atau sekat peluang sebab untuk menahan peluang pemegang UEC asalkan mereka melepasi segala syarat yang ditetapkan.

“Saya bimbang kalau ada yang terlalu bercakap pasal isu ini boleh menyakitkan perasaan kaum lain,” katanya.
