Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM) melaporkan mengesan satu kluster baharu dalam kalangan Pendatang Tanpa Izin (PATI) di Kunak, Sabah.

Kes indeks kluster (iaitu kes ke-9859) adalah seorang tahanan di Pusat Tahanan Sementara (PTS) Tawau yang telah dihantar balik ke negara asal iaitu Zamboanga, Filipina pada 27 Ogos 2020. Namun demikian, pada 5 September 2020, individu itu menyusup masuk ke Sabah dari Zamboanga, Filipina melalui lorong tikus untuk melawat isterinya.

Isteri kes (iaitu kes ke-9860) pula dikesan positif COVID-19 pada 8 September 2020 semasa saringan rujukan dari Hospital Kunak ke Hospital Tawau bagi rawatan lanjut komplikasi pendarahan selepas bersalin.

Beliau didapati mula bergejala pada 6 September 2020. Hasil aktiviti pengesanan kes secara aktif dan saringan kontak rapat, 2 lagi kes positif COVID-19 telah dikesan, iaitu anak dan jiran kes indeks (iaitu kes ke-9861 dan kes ke-9862).

Sehingga 12 September 2020, sejumlah 49 telah disaring dalam kluster ini. Kesemua saringan ini melibatkan warganegara Filipina.

Daripada jumlah ini, 4 kes dikesan positif COVID-19.

Menurut KM melalui laman sosial rasminya, langkah pencegahan penularan jangkitan seperti proses nyah kuman dan pembersihan telah dijalankan di lokasi-lokasi yang dikenalpasti. Punca jangkitan masih di dalam siasatan.
