IPOH: Perak berjaya meletakkan tanda aras baharu kepada penganjuran Sukan Malaysia (Sukma) 2018 yang berakhir hari ini.

Menurut Menteri Besar Perak, YAB Ahmad Faizal Azumu, ia diterima sebagai antara yang terbaik dalam sejarah penganjuran temasya sukan dwi tahunan itu.
Katanya, kejayaan meletakkan tanda aras baharu ini adalah hasil kerja keras semua pihak.

Ahmad Faizal berkata, kejayaan itu tidak akan tercapai tanpa kerjasama yang sangat baik daripada kerajaan Persekutuan terutamanya Kementerian Belia dan Sukan bersama Majlis Sukan Negara (MSN) dan semua pihak.

“Negeri Perak mengucapkan jutaan tahniah dan syabas kepada para atlet dari kesemua 14 kontinjen termasuk dari Brunei Darussalam yang telah menunjukkan tahap semangat kesukanan yang begitu tinggi sepanjang temasya Sukma kali ini.

“Kita ucapkan setinggi-tinggi tahniah kepada kontinjen Terengganu yang telah ditabalkan sebagai juara keseluruhan serta pasukan bola sepak Perak kerana telah mempertahankan ibu segala pingat emas Sukma,” katanya semasa berucap pada penutup Sukma 2018 yang disempurnakan oleh Timbalan Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail di Stadium Perak, di sini malam tadi.

Ahmad Faizal berkata, penganjuran Sukma 2018 juga telah mencetuskan minat yang mendalam rakyat negeri Perak terhadap aktiviti sukan.

“Ini dapat dilihat bagaimana rakyat Perak hadir beramai-ramai di semua venue pertandingan di 12 daerah seluruh negeri ini bagi memeriahkan kejohanan.

Katanya, bersandarkan semangat itu, kerajaan negeri mahu menjadikan bandar raya Ipoh sebagai Bandaraya Sukan.

“Bukan sahaja acara sukan, Ipoh Sports City juga berpotensi untuk menjadi hub kepada pelbagai acara pameran dan persidangan sukan, sekaligus menjadikan Ipoh sebagai destinasi pelancongan utama di negara ini.” katanya.
