Inisiatif E-Tunai Galakkan Rakyat Manfaatkan Teknologi – Gobind

SEREMBAN, 6 Feb (Bernama) – Pengenalan inisiatif e-Tunai Rakyat adalah salah satu usaha kerajaan untuk menggalakkan rakyat Malaysia menggunakan teknologi, kata Menteri Komunikasi dan Multimedia, Gobind Singh Deo.

Beliau berkata ia juga sejajar dengan peralihan negara ke arah Revolusi Perindustrian Keempat.

“Ramai orang kini menjalankan perniagaan dalam talian. Kita dapat melihat betapa pentingnya bagi kita untuk menggalakkan orang ramai belajar menggunakan teknologi untuk manfaat mereka.

“Program e-Tunai Rakyat adalah inisiatif yang sangat baik. Terdapat kriteria tertentu yang perlu dipenuhi untuk membolehkan rakyat Malaysia menerima inisiatif RM30, “katanya kepada pemberita selepas menghadiri program Info On Wheels di Pasar Besar Seremban di sini hari ini.

Program ini dijalankan untuk menerangkan beberapa isu yang berkaitan termasuk jangkitan koronavirus novel 2019 (nCov-2019), program e-cash rakyat dan pengurangan kadar tol.

Turut hadir Timbalan Menteri Komunikasi dan Multimedia Datuk Eddin Syazlee Shith dan Ketua Pengarah Penerangan Roselindawati Abdul Rahman.

Inisiatif e-Tunai Rakyat telah dilancarkan pada 14 Jan dengan peruntukan sebanyak RM450 juta. Kira-kira 15 juta rakyat Malaysia layak menuntut RM30 setiap satu melalui salah satu daripada tiga pengendali e-wallet iaitu Grab, Boost, dan Touch ‘n Go.

Mengenai pengurangan tol 18 peratus, Gobind berkata ia menerima respon positif daripada rakyat.

“Kadar tol semasa akan kekal selama 38 tahun yang akan datang dan kerajaan tidak perlu lagi membayar pampasan yang boleh mencecah berbilion ringgit setiap tahun,” katanya sambil menambah langkah itu juga akan membantu mengurangkan kos kerajaan.

Mengenai Info On Wheels, Gobind berkata program itu akan terus diadakan untuk memberi maklumat mengenai inisiatif kerajaan serta penjelasan mengenai isu-isu yang timbul.

Beliau berkata sejak 27 Jan lepas, Jabatan Penerangan telah melaksanakan 935 program Info on Wheels di seluruh negara.

“Saya fikir inisiatif seperti ini harus terus dilaksanakan. Kami akan terus pergi ke setiap negeri di seluruh negara untuk membawa maklumat terkini dan tepat kepada semua rakyat Malaysia.
