IPOH, 27 Okt 2024 – Kementerian Perumahan dan Kerajaan Tempatan (KPKT) kini dipertanggungjawabkan menjaga Hal ehwal perkampungan India di seluruh negara.

Nga Kor Ming selaku Menteri Perumahan dan Kerajaan Tempatan berkata, keputusan dibuat dalam perjumpaan Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim bersama 47 ahli Parlimen dan ADUN berbangsa India baru-baru ini.

Menurut beliau, kerajaan juga memperuntukkan RM10 juta bagi kemudahan asas dan penubuhan jawatankuasa keselamatan kampung di perkampungan India.

“Susunannya, kampung tradisi Melayu di bawah Kementerian Kemajuan Desa dan Wilayah yang dijaga Timbalan Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi manakala Kampung Baru Cina dan perkampungan India dijaga KPKT,” kata Kor Ming yang juga Pengerusi DAP Perak di majlis sambutan Deepavali DAP Bersama Media di sini malam tadi.

Katanya, di Perak terdapat tujuh perkampungan India termasuk di Buntong, Sungkai dan Hilir Perak.

Tambahnya tujuh lagi di dalam kawasan Pihak Berkuasa Tempatan (PBT).

Majlis malam ini turut dihadiri EXCO Sumber Manusia, Kesihatan, Hal Ehwal Masyarakat India Dan Intergrasi Nasional, A. Sivanesan.
