Bina Kemudahan Pembuatan Bateri Termaju Di Science Park, Pulau Pinang

PULAU PINANG, 1 Ogos 2023 — Enovix Corporation (“Enovix”) (Nasdaq: ENVX), sebuah syarikat bateri silikon termaju dan YBS International Berhad (“YBS”) (MESDAQ: YBS:KLS), sebuah syarikat pemegangan pelaburan yang berpangkalan di Malaysia dengan segmen termasuk
pembuatan dan pemasangan elektronik, kejuruteraan ketepatan tinggi dan ketepatan pemesinan dan pengecapan, hari ini menandatangani Perjanjian Bekalan Pembuatan (MSA).

Acara menandakan permulaan perkongsian strategik antara kedua-dua pemain industri dan meraikan penubuhan kemudahan pembuatan bateri generasi akan datang yang canggih di Science Park, Pulau Pinang.

“Penubuhan hab pembuatan Enovix di Malaysia menandakan satu langkah penting, membawakan teknologi bateri anod silikon termaju
ke rantau ini.

“Ini memberikan peluang unik untuk syarikat tempatan seperti YBS untuk bekerjasama dan menjadi sebahagian daripada rantaian bekalan global, mendapat manfaat daripada kepakaran mendalam Enovix, skala ekonomi dan akses kepada teknologi terkini.

Demikian menurut kenyataan Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Pelaburan Malaysia Pihak Berkuasa Pembangunan (MIDA), Datuk Wira Arham Abdul Rahman.

YAB Chow Kon Yeow, Ketua Menteri Sementara Pulau Pinang menyatakan, “prestasi Pulau Pinang yang membanggakan menggambarkan ekosistem tempatan yang mantap yang dimiliki oleh negeri ini, terdiri daripada syarikat multinasional (MNC), syarikat tempatan besar (LLC) dan
perusahaan kecil dan sederhana(PKS).

“Perlu diingat bahawa MNC telah memainkan peranan penting dalam membangunkan keupayaan tempatan, yang diterjemahkan kepada peningkatan penyertaan daripada syarikat tempatan dalam rantaian bekalan global.

“Saya yakin bahawa kerjasama antara YBS dan Enovix hari ini akan menuruti perjalanan yang sama.”

Jackie Yong Chan Cheah, Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif YBS International Berhad, menyatakan, “Enovix mempunyai teknologi bateri yang menarik. Kami percaya Enovix akan menjadi peneraju pasaran dan kami melihat ke hadapan untuk menyokong matlamat syarikat dan berkongsi pertumbuhan dan kejayaannya.”

Ajay Marathe, COO Enovix Corporation, berkata beliau sangat teruja untuk mengumumkan peristiwa penting ini.

“Selain bekerja dengan YBS, kami melihat ke hadapan untuk bekerjasama dengan MIDA, Wilayah Ekonomi Koridor Utara dan InvestPenang untuk mendapatkan insentif pelaburan yang akan menyokong matlamat jangka panjang kami dalam Malaysia.

“Malaysia, dan khususnya wilayah Pulau Pinang, kaya dengan jurutera semikonduktor terlatih dalam kecemerlangan pembuatan. Kami berbesar hati untuk memajukan kehadiran di rantau ini untuk menyokong pertumbuhan pesat kami.”

Sebagai sebahagian daripada MSA, YBS, di bawah arahan Enovix, akan menyediakan bangunan dan modal untuk peralatan dan buruh untuk Fab2 dan Gen2 Autoline 1.

Enovix mengumumkan awal tahun ini bahawa ia menubuhkan Enovix Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. Selain itu, Enovix telah mengupah lebih 30 orang di Malaysia termasuk dua pakar yang diumumkan pada Mac tahun ini.
