BUTTERWORTH | Ahli DAP perlu memberi tumpuan kepada memenuhi manifesto Pakatan Harapan (PH) untuk membangunkan negara dan bukannya terganggu oleh isu peralihan kuasa untuk jawatan perdana menteri, kata Setiausaha Agung DAP Lim Guan Eng, lapor Bernama.

Beliau menasihatkan ahli-ahli parti untuk menyalurkan tenaga mereka ke arah memenuhi baki 40 peratus janji dalam manifesto PH yang masih belum dicapai.

“Jangan terperangkap dengan laporan media yang suka membuat berita muka depan tentang perbalahan … tidak berjuang menentang musuh tetapi menentang rakan-rakan … ini hanya akan mewujudkan ketidakstabilan dalam kerajaan.

“Jangan tanya peralihan kuasa (pelan) yang telah diputuskan, jadi fokuskan tenaga, perhatian kita untuk memenuhi janji-janji dalam manifesto PH untuk membangunkan negara,” katanya ketika merasmikan konvensyen tahunan DAP Pulau Pinang di sini hari ini.

Lim berkata isu peralihan kuasa dari Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad kepada Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim telah diputuskan kerana Dr Mahathir berkata beliau akan menyerahkan jawatan tersebut selepas Malaysia menganjurkan Sidang Kemuncak Kerjasama Ekonomi Asia-Pasifik (APEC) pada November 2020.

Lim, yang juga Menteri Kewangan, mengingatkan para ahli DAP untuk memberi perhatian kepada suara rakyat dan bekerja untuk faedahnya.

“Kita juga ada masalah dalam parti kita sendiri tetapi kita harus berbincang dengan mereka secara tertutup dan tidak secara terang-terangan, setuju atau tidak, ini kerana apa yang berlaku di pihak lain juga akan memberi kesan kepada kita,” katanya.

Konvensyen DAP negeri dihadiri oleh 376 perwakilan.
