IPOH | Daerah Bagan Datuk yang didapati agak terkebelakang akan diberikan lebih fokus  menerusi perancangan pembangunan ekonomi Jajaran Lebuhraya Pantai Barat (WCE).

Menteri Besar Perak, Dato’ Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu berkata, kerajaan negeri menubuhkan Jawatankuasa Pertumbuhan Ekonomi Jajaran Lebuhraya Pantai Barat (WCE) bagi merancang pembangunan di sepanjang jajaran lebuhraya berkenaan.

Beliau yang juga pengerusi jawatankuasa tersebut berkata, beberapa jabatan dan agensi turut dilibatkan dalam jawatankuasa itu.

Menurutnya, Timbalan Pengerusi Jawatankuasa itu, Abdul Yunus Jamhari pula merupakan Exco Kemudahan Awam, Infrastruktur, Pertanian dan Perladangan Perak.

“Kita juga telah melantik pihak WCE sebagai penasihat kepada jawatankuasa untuk membincangkan bagaimana kita dapat memaksimumkan limpahan ekonomi kepada rakyat Perak di sepanjang jajaran WCE.

“Sebanyak lima daerah terlibat dengan jajaran WCE ini tetapi fokus akan diberikan lebih kepada daerah Bagan Datuk yang kita dapati ia agak terkebelakang,’’ katanya kepada pemberita di pejabatnya di Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan pada Khamis. Hadir sama Pengarah Urusan WCE, Datuk Neoh Soon Hong.

Ahmad Faizal seterusnya berkata, beberapa cadangan daripada pegawai-pegawai daerah dan Pihak Berkuasa Tempatan (PBT) terlibat sudah mengemukakan beberapa cadangan pembangunan di kawasan masing-masing.

Menurut beliau, cadangan tersebut perlu diperhalusi oleh pihak pejabat daerah dan pihak berkaitan.

“Saya telah menetapkan tempoh sebulan untuk pejabat-pejabat daerah mengadakan perbincangan di kawasan masing-masing dan kita akan perhalusi cadangan pada masa akan datang.

“Selepas itu akan diteruskan dengan tindakan-tindakan bagi memastikan cadangan itu dapat dilaksanakan secepat mungkin demi kepentingan rakyat,” katanya.

Ahmad Faizal berkata, selain Bagan Datuk, peluang untuk memajukan kawasan terpencil lain seperti daerah Hilir Perak dan Perak Tengah cukup tinggi memandangkan harga tanah di kawasan berkenaan masih rendah berbanding Selangor dan Pulau Pinang.

Ditanya pemberita mengenai pembukaan jajaran lebuhraya tersebut yang dijadual sebelum Hari Raya Aidilfitri tahun ini, katanya, perkara itu akan diumumkan pada 20 Mei nanti.
