IPOH: Sukan Malaysia (SUKMA) 2018 yang bakal berlangsung pada 12 hingga 22 September ini di semua 12 daerah di negeri ini diharapkan bukan sahaja Perak dapat muncul sebagai penganjur terbaik malah menjadi juara keseluruhan pada kali ini.

Menurut Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Media Cetak, Elektronik dan ICT SUKMA 2018, YB Hasnul Zulkarnain Abd Munaim, beliau juga mengharapkan sukan ini dapat memberi manfaat besar kepada seluruh rakyat Malaysia.

Justeru, katanya, beliau mengharapkan kerjasama baik 500 wartawan yang hadir membuat liputan secara meluas menjadikan sukan ini sebagai yang terbaik selain mempromosikan Perak sebagai tempat menarik untuk dikunjungi.

“SUKMA 2018 ini jelas dapat memberi manfaat besar kepada seluruh rakyat dan anda semua mempunyai tugas besar dalam membuat liputan berita untuk disampaikan kepada rakyat.

“Kami sebagai tuan rumah akan berusaha untuk memberikan yang terbaik bagi memastikan kelancaran SUKMA 2018 ini selain diraikan kemeriahannya oleh rakyat Perak,” katanya semasa berucap di hadapan wartawan dan pengamal media di Pusat Media SUKMA 2018 di Jabatan Belia dan Sukan Perak di Ipoh pada Sabtu.

Selepas 24 tahun berlalu, Perak menjadi tuan rumah buat kali kedua selepas menganjurkannya untuk edisi kelima pada tahun 1994.
Dengan slogan ‘Wow! Kita Hebat’, sebanyak 11,000 atlet dan pegawai mewakili 14 kontinjen dari seluruh negara bakal bertanding dalam 26 jenis sukan merangkumi 369 acara yang dipertandingkan.

Sementara itu acara bola sepak Sukan Malaysia (Sukma) Perak 2018 hari ini bakal menyaksikan persaingan di peringkat kumpulan A iaitu Perak bakal beraksi menentang Sarawak di Stadium Majlis Perbandaran Manjung, pada jam 8.45 malam.

Menerusi posting yang dimuatnaik ke laman Facebook rasmi Sukma Perak 2018, turut beraksi dalam kumpulan yang sama, pada jam 4.30 petang ini, pasukan Negeri Sembilan terlebih dahulu akan mengambil tempat untuk menentang Perlis, di padang yang sama.

Pasukan Wilayah Persekutuan juga tidak ketinggalan untuk menentang Johor, pada jam 4.30 petang ini di Stadium Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris Shah, Kampus Sultan Azlan Shah, TanjungMalim. Wilayah Persekutuan dan Johor berada dalam kumpulan B bagi acara bola sepak selain Terengganu.
