Bekas Ketua Pemuda UMNO, Khairy Jamaluddin dalam ciapan di ruang Twiter beliau membantah ura-ura pengurangan dan pemberhentian pemberian wang tunai (BR1M) kepada golongan sasar oleh kerajaan hari ini.

Menurut beliau, pemberian wang tunai adalah suatu polisi yang diamalkan oleh banyak negara lain. Tambahnya lagi, ia boleh membantu menanggung beban sara hidup golongan berpendapatan rendah (B40).

Beliau seterusnya menyatakan sekiranya pemberian wang tunai itu satu bentuk sogokan, seperti yang dikatakan oleh Azmin Ali, kerajaan sepatutnya menghentikan juga pemberian bonus dan duit raya yang biasa diberikan kepada kakitangan kerajaan.

Ciapan beliau merujuk kepada satu laporan oleh Astro Awani yang memetik kenyataan Azmin Ali ‘Hapus BR1M untuk elak sogokan kepada rakyat’.
