IPOH: Langkah kerajaan mahu menghapuskan Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia (BR1M) tidak memberi kesan negatif kepada rakyat .

Menurut Menteri Hal Ehwal Ekonomi, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, ini kerana kerajaan beranggapan sebarang bentuk sogokan tunai untuk mendapat sokongan politik mesti dihentikan kerana ia mempunyai unsur rasuah.

Katanya, Perdana Menteri Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad tuntas dalam menegaskan bahawa sebarang bentuk sogokan tunai ini untuk mendapat sokongan politik mesti dihentikan kerana ini mempunyai unsur-unsur rasuah.

“Dalam mendapatkan sokongan kepada rakyat saya mempunyai pengalaman di Selangor di mana kita tidak menyogok rakyat dengan bentuk wang tunai tetapi apa yang kita lakukan ialah memberdayakan rakyat melalui program dan dasar demi mensejahterakan rakyat.

“Sebagai contoh bagi peniaga kecil golongan B40, di Selangor kita memberikan bantuan mikro kredit untuk mereka membesarkan perniagaan dengan memberikan pinjaman bernilai dari RM 1,000 hingga RM50,000, dengan bantuan seumpama ini dapat pastikan mereka memberdayakan ekonomi keluarga masing-masing,” katanya.

Azmin berkata demikian selepas merasmikan Majlis Perasmian Serentak Mesyuarat Agung Tahunan Cabang (MATC) 2018 negeri Perak di Hotel Kinta Riverfront, Ipoh pada Ahad.

Ditanya pemberita sama ada BR1M akan digantikan dengan pendekatan lain, Azmin berkata, beliau percaya Perdana Menteri sedang merangka inisiatif baru dalam hala tuju ekonomi Malaysia.

“Perkara ini akan kita bahaskan dalam parlimen Oktober ini yang meletakkan fokus untuk mensejahterakan rakyat…Bukan menyogok dan memperbodohkan rakyat.

Beliau diminrta mengulas laporan media semalam yang melaporkan BR1M akan mula dikurangkan pemberiannya sedikit demi sedikit sebelum dihapuskan dalam tempoh terdekat.

Perdana Menteri, Tun Dr. Mahathir berkata, pentadbiran terdahulu di bawah pemerintahan Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak dikatakan terlalu memanjakan rakyat sehingga terpaksa bergantung kepada kerajaan.
