IPOH: Khabar angin kononnya ada serangan penyakit misteri yang membabitkan seramai 79 pelajar di Sekolah Tuanku Abdul Rahman (STAR) adalah tidak benar sama sekali.

Menurut Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Kesihatan, Hal Ehwal Pengguna, Masyarakat Sivil, Intergrasi Nasional dan Sumber Manusia, A. Sivanesan, selepas pemeriksaan dijalankan didapati seramai empat orang pelajar telah disahkan positif influenza A H1N1.

Katanya, gejala demam dan batuk dalam kalangan pelajar yang melibatkan seramai 79 orang pelajar dan seorang guru telah dikesan dimana dua orang pelajar telah dimasukkan ke hospital swasta untuk rawatan dan pemantauan manakala kes lain diklasifikasikan sebagai pesakit luar.

“Seramai 28 orang pelajar telah diasingkan dan sebanyak empat kes disahkan positif influenza A H1N1,’’ katanya kepada pemberita di bilik media Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan, Ipoh pada Rabu.

Beliau berkata, pejabat kesihatan Daerah Kinta telah mengambil tindakan bagi mencegah penyakit tersebut dari terus merebak termasuk mengasingkan pelajar yang terlibat dengan pelajar-pelajar lain.

“Situasi tersebut masih berada dalam keadaan terkawal.’’ katanya.

Menurut Sivanesan, bagi mencegah jangkitan, orang ramai disarankan untuk mengamalkan langkah pencegahan pada peringkat awal antaranya menjaga kebersihan diri dan mengelak berkongsi pakaian peribadi seperti tuala mandi.
