KOTA BHARU (Harakahdaily) | Kerajaan menggalakkan rakyat memanfaat air hujan sebagai pilihan baharu bagi mengatasi masalah kekurangan bekalan air.

Menteri Alam Sekitar dan Air, Dato’ Sri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man bagaimanapun berkata penggunaan air hujan hanya terhad di kawasan yang kurang mempunyai perindustrian.

“Sebenarnya kalau boleh kita hendak manfaatkan air hujan sebab airnya bagus cuma di kawasan industri, air lebih terdedah udara tercemar.

“Kelantan antaranya boleh manfaat air hujan sebab di negeri ini tidak banyak industri dan kurang pencemaran udara,” katanya kepada pemberita selepas perasmian projek rawatan air komuniti Parlimen Kubang Kerian di Masjid Mukim Seterpa Banggu di sini, semalam.

Turut hadir anggota Exco Dato’ Mumtaz Md Nawi, Adun Pasir Tumboh Ustaz Abdul Rahman Yunus dan Presiden Yayasan Amal, Hussin Ismail.

Tuan Ibrahim juga merangkap Ahli Parlimen Kubang Kerian berkata, Institut Penyelidikan Hidraulik Kebangsaan Malaysia (Nahrim) menerokai kaedah penuaian air hujan di Malaysia.

Menurutnya usaha itu dilakukan menerusi pelaksanaan Projek Sistem Penuaian Air Hujan (SPAH) dan Inkubator Air Minuman Berbungkus (AMB) atau Air Hujan Terawat.
