IPOH | Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu menyifatkan langkah mewajibkan pengisytiharan harta oleh semua Ahli Dewan Undangan Negeri (ADUN) di Perak sebagai satu kemenangan buat rakyat.

Katanya, rakyat telah memberi kepercayaan kepada Pakatan Harapan dalam Pilihan Raya Umum ke-14 (PRU14) untuk memacu harapan mengembalikan kegemilangan negeri Perak.

“Ahamdulillah, Perak mencatat sejarah sebagai negeri pertama meluluskan usul yang menghendaki semua ADUN Perak mengisytiharkan harta mereka dan ahli keluarga terdekat iaitu suami, isteri, atau anak dalam Akaun Berkanun.

“Saya percaya, langkah menegakkan prinsip akauntabiliti dan ketelusan dalam kalangan wakil rakyat ini akan membuka lembaran kepada usaha memastikan pentadbiran kerajaan yang bersih dan berintegriti.

“Ketika kita sedang membina semula negara ini di bawah semangat Malaysia Baharu demi perjuangan mewariskan sebuah negara yang lebih baik kepada generasi akan datang,” katanya dalam satu kenyataan media pada Rabu.

Menurutnya, ia juga selari dengan amanat Perdana Menteri, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad untuk membina sebuah kerajaan yang berkhidmat untuk rakyat dan bukan menggunakan jawatan dalam kerajaan untuk kepentingan peribadi dan keluarga.
