IPOH: Menteri Besar Perak, YAB Ahmad Faizal Azumu menzahirkan komitmen beliau untuk melahirkan bakat muda dalam memperkasakan sukan sepaktakraw di negeri ini.

Setiausaha Agung Jawatankuasa Kelab Sepak Takraw Perak (PATC), Mohd Syamsi Ab Junid berkata, sebagai langkah pertama bagi merealisasikan matlamat itu pihak persatuan telah mendapatkan komitmen Menteri Besar untuk membina sebuah gelanggang sepaktakraw di Tambun yang mana Ahmad Faizal adalah juga Ahli Parlimen Tambun.

“Saya telah menemui Menteri Besar semalam dan beliau menyatakan komitmennya untuk membantu persatuan bagi merealisasikan hasrat ini.

“Langkah yang sama akan diikuti di daerah lain selain usaha pihak persatuan untuk mendapatkan dana kerajaan negeri bagi memperkasakan sukan sepaktakraw,’’ katanya kepada Independent pada Sabtu.

Menurut Mohd Syamsi, beliau optimis Perak dapat mengembalikan semula nostalgia kegemilangannya dalam sukan sepaktakraw seperti mana yang telah dikecapi pada zaman era 60-an dahulu.

“Saya akui sememangnya Perak mempunyai ramai anak muda yang berbakat cuma kita memerlukan usaha keras bagi mencari bakat-bakat baru ini menerusi penganjuran program-program pertandingan sepaktakraw di seluruh negeri’’ ujarnya.

PATC akan menganjurkan Kejohanan Piala III Generasi di Dewan Seri Perdana, Kolej Sains Kesihatan Bersekutu Sultan Azlan Shah, Ulu Kinta pada 18 Ogos 2018.
